Reading is an integral part of the Busy Bee Community. We love reading and shaping our minds the right away. We are confident that when our children read and understand, they become better communicators and are able to understand all the subjects they are studying. The amazing thing about reading is that it is open for children of all ages. Even babies can benefit from the written word. Here are a few tips to help make yours a reading family:
1. Open Book Night
Just like the open mic night, an open book night is a time to freely and creatively explore the written word. Let everyone pick out their favorite book and join in the fun. Each child can then read out a story from their book and share their thoughts on it. If the children are younger and unable to read by themselves, the parents can read to them and let the children comment on the stories.

2. Snuggle Reading
A good way to help children have downtime is by encouraging them to read a section of a book as they lay in bed. This means that they need to put away their phones, iPad, laptops and any other gadgets. Parents can snuggle with the little one and read to them. Older children can read to themselves.
3. Reenacting the Stories
Have you ever heard people say they prefer to watch the movie than read the book? I guess this is because movies bring the characters to life. They give meaning to the sights, sounds and emotions. Why not help bring your children’s books to life in a simpler way? You may not employ the services of a production house but you can act out the story. Let everyone read the story ahead of time then act it out together on game night.
