BUSY BEE KINDERGARTEN – NYALI

BUSY BEE KINDERGARTEN – NYALI (A WONDER WORLD FOR LITTLE CHILDREN)

Our kindergarten is one of the best in the country. It was designed with the children in mind. We have classrooms that are the perfect size for our learners. They are airy, clean and well equipped. Our teachers are friendly, caring and sensitive to the needs of little children. We have a sand pit for sand play and the slides. We have a vegetable garden where our little ones plant vegetables and learn where our food comes from. We also rear ducks and rabbits which our children help to feed sometimes.

CRECHE CLASS

The creche class is for  children aged 3- 4 years. Their class is designed to mimic a home environment. They have toys, plush animals, toy bikes, rocking chairs and a TV. The main goal of the class is to help the children transition from the home environment to the school environment. In this class, the children learn life skills and develop their psychomotor abilities.

The children are taught rhymes and guided in purposeful play. The children also have outdoor water play and sand play sessions once a week. These outdoor play sessions are fun packed and very relaxing for the little ones. The creche babies also get to bond with the little fish in our aquarium and fish pond.

PP1 & PP2

In the preprimary classes, learning is child centered. We lay great emphasis on language activities and helping the children make sense of what they are reading or listening to. The children are guided through a reading scheme to develop their reading and comprehension abilities. It is also at this level that we teach the children how to write, building from coloring and scribbling to writing.

Every Monday we have News Tell. This is a special session where the little ones tell their peers and class teacher how they spent their weekend.  The learners then describe the same on paper. The children engage in Art and Music activities as part of their learning. Lessons are broken down into themes that the children can relate to. For instance, when learning about work, the children will cover different career options and do class projects on the same. Their results are then displayed on the class boards and shared with their parents on our online platforms. Swimming classes are conducted every Thursday.

MEALS

The children are provided with a snack at Break time. Parents are expected to pack a bottle of drinking water for their children.

TRANSPORT POLICY

School Transport is available but on a first come first served basis. All the information and transport arrangements are made with the Administrator. Parents whose children are on school transport should ensure that there is always someone at the drop off station to receive the child. No learner will be dropped off without an authorized person to receive them.

Parents who drop off and pick up their children should do so in a timely and effective manner, ensuring that they do not cause unnecessary traffic. If a parent is unable to pick their child from school and opts to send someone else to do so, they are required to:

  1. Notify the administrator
  2. Send the full name and ID number of the person picking up your child
  3. Ask the person to present themselves to the office before picking the child
